Ukraine's grain harvest for 2024 is 95.7% completed, with 52.1 million tons

The Agriculture Ministry announced on Friday that Ukraine had harvested 52.1 millions metric tons (95.7%) of its planted area of grain by November 14.

Volume included 22.4 millions tons of wheat and 5.6 million of barley. There were also 470,500 tonnes of peas, as well as 22.3 million of corn. The farmers have threshed a total of 88% corn.

The farmers harvested around 10 million tons from the 96.5% planted area. Rapeseed and soybeans were almost finished at 3.5 million tonnes each.

The ministry forecasts that the corn crop in 2024 will be about 25 million tonnes and the wheat harvest will be about 22 millions tons.

The country expects to harvest 54 million tons of grain in 2024 and a total crop of 77 millions tons, including oilseeds.

Vitaliy Koval, Ukraine's Agriculture Minister, said that the country will reach its 2025 winter sowing goal despite challenging weather conditions. (Reporting and editing by Clarence Fernandez; Reporting by Pavel Polityuk)
