Jordan purchases approximately 50,000 T of wheat at tender, traders claim

In an international auction held on Tuesday, Jordan's state grain buyer bought about 50,000 metric tonnes of hard milling whey from origins that were optional.

They said that it was estimated to have been purchased from Bulgarian Trading House Buildcom for an estimated $265.00 per ton, including freight (c&f), with shipment scheduled to take place in the second half August.

The reports reflect the opinions of traders, and it is still possible to estimate prices and volume later.

Traders have received information that Jordan will be issuing a new tender for 120,000 tonnes of wheat in the next few days. The tender is expected to open on April 8 and the shipment will be in different combinations for July and August.

Traders reported that these other trading firms participated in the Tuesday's tender. They made offers of $269.60 per ton c&f, including: Cargill, $266.90; Viterra, $280; Ameropa, $280; Farm Sense, $292, and Al Dahra, $272.

On Wednesday, a separate bid from Jordan for 120,000 tons animal feed barley will close. Michael Hogan is reporting, Kirby Donovan is editing.
