US Coast Guard responds to cargo ship fire near Alaska, no injuries reported

The U.S. Coast Guard reported on Wednesday that it responded to a fire aboard a 600-foot (183-meter) cargo ship in Alaska. However, no injuries were reported.

Morning Midas was a ship with 22 people aboard and it was located in Alaska, 300 miles (482.8 kilometers) southwest of Adak. The coast guard reported that the ship's crew actively fought the fire.

According to LSEG, the Liberia flagged cargo ship's final destination was Lazaro Cardenas (Mexico).

Three vessels and an aircrew were already at the scene.
