Indonesia's Bali seeks financiers for $20 bln city project

The government of Indonesia's resort island of Bali is looking for financiers for a 325 trillion rupiah ($ 20 billion) underground train network beginning September, authorities said.

The building and construction of the metro will remain in 4 stages, connecting the capital of Bali, Denpasar, to popular traveler locations such as Seminyak, Canggu, Nusa Dua, Sanur, and Ubud, Ari Askhara, an agent of the Bali federal government, stated on Wednesday, according to state news firm Antara.

The federal government expects the railway to connect Denpasar to Canggu and Nusa Dua by 2031.

Bali's provincial federal government has designated PT Bumi Indah as the primary financier, said Ari. The company will look for other investors, Ari added.
