France asks airlines cancel 15% of flights from Paris airports following snowfall

After heavy snowfalls, the French capital Paris was pounded by a slew of snowstorms on Monday. The?civil aviation authority in France asked airlines to cancel up to 15% of flights until the evening.

A spokesperson said that airlines can cancel flights as long as they reduce takeoffs and land landings.

Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport was asked to reduce flight schedules until 2000 CET (1900 GMT), and Paris-Orly airport until 2330 CET (22230 GMT).

The French Transport Ministry urged travelers to make sure their flight was taking off before they left home and to use public transport to get to the airport rather than drive.
