US Gulf Coast oil, LNG exports hit zero on Sunday due to freeze, Vortexa says

Ship tracking service Vortexa reported that exports of crude oil from U.S. Gulf Coast ports fell to zero on Sunday after a major winter storm swept the country. A recent Arctic blast has swept the United States, putting strain on energy grids and infrastructure. According to analyst predictions, up to 2 million barrels of oil production per day went offline over the weekend because of the cold weather.

In a 'LinkedIn' post,?Samantha Santa Maria Hartke, head of?market analysis?at Vortexa said that the storm had reduced exports of liquefied petrol gas such as propane and butane to a third of seasonal norms.

She added that exports recovered on Monday as flows were above seasonal norms. Reporting by Arathy S. Somasekhar, Houston; editing by Andrea Ricci
