Storm Goretti leaves hundreds of thousands in France and Britain without electricity

As Storm Goretti swept across northern Europe, strong winds blasted France and Britain leaving thousands of households without electricity. According to Enedis, in France, 380,000 households were without power, mainly in Brittany and the Normandy area.

Wind gusts exceeding?150 kph were recorded in France's northwest?Manche Region, including a 213 kph record in Barfleur. The SNCF rail operator halted train services between Paris and the Normandy region.
