Sable Offshore increases California production as more wells are restarted

Sable Offshore, an oil and gas producer in California, announced on Monday that it was ramping up production as more 'wells' come online. A third platform will be operating later this year.

The shares of the company rose 3.7% during pre-market trading.

Last month, the?company restarted oil flow into the 'pipeline system connecting the Santa Ynez off-shore platforms?to California refining facilities.

Sable's attempts to restart the system are now the subject of an ongoing?dispute between California regulators and environmental groups who have filed lawsuits against the reopening.

On Monday, the company announced that 40 wells are currently online on Platform Harmony and Platform Legacy?and each is producing approximately 750 barrels per day.

It said that once all 74 'wells' are operational, the output will 'average?around 700 barrels a day per well.

Platform Hondo is expected to start production by June 2026. Production will increase to?about 10,000 bbls/day,?providing a?significant?boost in volumes for the Santa Ynez Unit. (Reporting and editing by Shilpi Mahumdar in Bengaluru)
