Media report that eight people were killed and others injured in Austrian shooting at school

The Kronen Zeitung reported that at least eight people died when a gunman opened fire on a school in Graz, Austria, on Tuesday. Other victims were also injured.

Austrian state broadcasters, such as ORF, cited local police to say that several people, including teachers and students, had been injured.

Police said an operation was under way in a street in the Austrian capital called Dreierschuetzengasse, on which there is a secondary school, but declined further comment.

ORF reported that police were evacuating a building.

It wasn't immediately clear if the suspect was one of the victims. Kronen Zeitung reported that a suspect was found dead in the bathroom of a hotel, but this report could not be immediately confirmed. Reporting by Francois Murph and Alexandra Schwarz Goerlich.
