Siemens Board to decide on new Chairman no later than 2027

Siemens' current chairman said that former Nestle CEO Mark Schneider might have to wait until 2027 before he can become its chairman.

Schneider, who headed Nestle between 2017 and 2024, was appointed to the Siemens supervisory board as Jim Hagemann Snabe's successor last year.

Snabe stated that Mark Schneider, who is the designated successor for the role as Chairman, had made valuable contributions to our discussions. The remarks were prepared for Siemens AGM, which will be held in Munich on February 12th, 2020.

He added that "the entire Supervisory Board" would make the final decision no later than February 2027.

Snabe is a former 'chairman of Danish logistic company AP Moller Maersk. He has been a'member of the Siemens supervisory board from 2013 and chairman since 2018. Some investors say that his long tenure makes him no longer independent.

The contract of his was extended for another two years in 2025.
