Hungary's MOL reaches deals for oil transportation via Druzhba pipeline

Hungary's MOL said on Monday it had reached handle suppliers and pipeline operators for the constant transport of petroleum through Belarus and Ukraine via the Druzhba pipeline.

Kyiv prohibited Lukoil products in June after putting the Russian group on a sanctions list, avoiding the transport of its oil to MOL refineries in Hungary and Slovakia.

That angered Hungary and Slovakia, whose governments said it was a danger to security of supply and ran the risk of fuel shortages.

The updated transportation contracts and the brand-new takeover plans, reliable from Monday, adhere to all pertinent sanctions and arrangements, consisting of those of the EU and Ukraine, MOL stated in a statement.

Under the contracts, MOL said it would take ownership of the affected crude oil volumes at the Belarus-Ukraine border.
