Bangladesh purchases 50,000 T of wheat at tender, traders claim

European traders reported on Tuesday that Bangladesh's state grain buyer had purchased around 50,000 metric tonnes of milling wheat at an international tender, which ended on February 19.

The lowest price in the tender was $295.21 per ton CIF liner, according to the traders.

CIF (cost Insurance Freight) terms of liner unloading include all ship unloading charges for the seller.

Aston's Wheat can be sourced from Russia, Romania or Bulgaria. It could also come from Australia, Argentina, Ukraine, Australia, Argentina, and Bulgaria.

After the floods of August and October 2024, Bangladesh has been active on the wheat and rice markets.

An estimated 1.1 millions tons of rice.

Bangladesh does not usually make decisions immediately on wheat purchases, with awards often being made several weeks after the submission of price proposals.

The shipment was requested 40 days following the contract signing date. The wheat could be from anywhere except Israel, and shipment was requested to two ports: Chittagong & Mongla.

Bangladesh also released a new currency on Tuesday.
