Mountain Valley looks for authorization for Virginia natgas pipeline

U.S. natural gas pipeline endeavor Mountain Valley asked federal regulators on Monday to authorize its Virginia pipeline task to be in service by June 11.

The company said in a filing with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) that the last segments of the job were being purged and packed with natural gas.

Mountain Valley included the filing that it had satisfied all aspects of the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Security Administration's Oct. 3, 2023, Consent Order (CO) that were needed to commence service.

Officials at Mountain Valley were not right away readily available for remark.

Last month, the company pressed back the target in-service date of its long-delayed pipeline from West Virginia to Virginia to early June from the prior target of prior to June 1.

On the other hand, previously in May, the business said it fixed a

that failed a water test.

The $7.85 billion Mountain Valley project is the only huge gas pipeline under construction in the U.S. Northeast. It has experienced many regulatory and court battles that have stopped work a number of times because building and construction began in 2018.
