France advises citizens to leave Iran, Lebanon due to military threats

France urged its residents in Iran and Lebanon to leave the countries due to a threat of military escalation in the Middle East, the foreign ministry stated on Sunday in 2 different travel advisories.

The French foreign ministry suggested people living in Iran to temporarily leave the country provided the threat of its airspace being closed. The ministry had actually advised residents taking a trip in Iran to leave on Friday.

The ministry called on its citizens in Lebanon, especially those on trips there, to make the most of the fact that there are still industrial flights available to leave.

Air France stated on Saturday it and its affiliate Transavia were further extending their suspensions of flights between Paris and Beirut till at least Aug. 6.
