Argentina grains workers strike drags out another day

An oilseed employees strike in Argentina is set to carry on into Sunday as wage negotiations with companies remained stalled, affecting shipments from one of the world's significant grain exporters.

We will continue with the (strike) action, Martin Morales, union secretary for the San Lorenzo Department Oilseed Workers and Worker Union (SOEA) informed Reuters on Saturday. There was no news today ... we will examine tomorrow, he included.

2 commercial unions kicked off the strike early on Tuesday as employees demand that salaries remain ahead of high inflation.

The strike has actually primarily impacted terminals located north of Rosario along the Parana River, where more than 80% of Argentina's agricultural and agro-industrial exports are delivered.

At least three dozen ships were still postponed on Saturday near Rosario, one of the most essential agro-export hubs in the world.
