DSV ahead in bidding for Deutsche Bahn's Schenker, sources say

Danish transport company DSV is a little ahead in the bidding race for German state railway Deutsche Bahn's logistics system Schenker, several people familiar with the sales process informed Reuters on Friday.

DSV's deal is currently viewed as the most appealing, the sources stated after a meeting of a federal government committee that assessed the quote in addition to a completing bidder, a consortium led by CVC Capital Partners.

The train itself is leaning towards the Danish firm, however the final decision will be made by the government, the sources added, with both deals amounting to around 14 billion euros ($ 15.6 billion).

Deutsche Bahn decreased to talk about the matter.

Although the federal government committee's assessment is viewed as an important step in the sale, it doesn't imply a choice, which is expected at the end of September by the earliest.
