Pipeline operator Enterprise Products to buy Pinon Midstream for $950 mln

Pipeline operator Business Products Partners stated on Wednesday it will buy smaller sized peer Pinon Midstream for $950 million in money to expand its natural gas infrastructure.

The oil and gas pipeline market has seen increased consolidation because in 2015 as U.S. production grows and as issues with licenses for new pipelines have made existing operators more valuable.

Pinon, a portfolio business of Black Bay Energy Capital, runs in the Delaware Basin in New Mexico and Texas. It supplies gas event and treating services in the eastern flank of the basin.

Pinon's assets include gathering and redelivery pipelines, dealing with centers for hydrogen sulfide and carbon dioxide, in addition to 2 acid gas injection wells.

These properties are extremely complementary to our midstream energy system and offer us an exceptional entry point into the eastern flank of the Delaware Basin for us to broaden our natural gas processing footprint, stated A.J. Teague, co-CEO of Enterprise's basic partner.

Enterprise Products, headquartered in Houston, Texas, has been

expanding its operations

in the United States shale patch. It is developing two natural gas processing plants in the Delaware and Midland basins, expected to start service in 2025.

The company anticipates to generate distributable capital accretion of $0.03 per system in 2025.

The acquisition offer is anticipated to close in the 4th quarter of 2024.
