Vessel Manager confirms five deaths suspected to be linked to ship sunk in Red Sea by Houthis

Greece's Cosmoship management said on Thursday that one person was believed to be dead and four others have not yet been seen after Houthi militants seized the Eternity C container ship in the Red Sea last week.

Sources in maritime security have confirmed that four people are believed to have died during the raids that began on Monday on the Liberia flagged ship.

Later, 21 mariners abandoned the ship, including two armed guards. Ten of the mariners have since been rescued.

The manager of Eternity C stated that another 10 people are still missing and that they were working with multiple channels to verify the Houthi's claim that some crew had been picked up by the Iran-aligned Houthi group after the vessel sank on Wednesday.

The company has also been working to keep families informed of the latest developments. Reporting and writing by Renee Maltezou, Los Angeles. Editing by Chris Reese, Matthew Lewis.
