Volvo Cars will launch 13 new models in the next decade and expects a revenue boost

Volvo Cars will launch '13 new models between now and 2030 to expand its product range and boost sales. The Swedish automaker announced this ahead of a day for investors in Stockholm on Thursday.

Volvo's CEO Hakan Samuelsson has streamlined its product range and put greater emphasis on regionalisation. Volvo is now offering more region-specific products and less customization.

The carmaker announced that'six models will be launched for the Chinese market and seven for Western markets. This will help it reach its long-sought goal of an EBIT margin of over 8%.

The Western market vehicles will be built using SPA2 and SPA3 Volvo platforms while the 'China-focused' models will be developed by sister company Geely Auto.

Samuelsson stated that "Our product offensive is built on four unique strengths: regionalised products, leadership in electricity, unique synergies between 'Geely and customers, as well as complete 'offers beyond the car itself.
