Bangladesh gets deals in tender to buy 50,000 T rice

The lowest cost used in the tender from Bangladesh's state grains purchaser to acquire 50,000 metric lots of rice which closed on Monday was evaluated at $459.47 a metric ton CIF liner out, traders stated.

Offers are still being considered and no purchase had yet been reported, they said.

Bangladesh generally considers price offers in grain and rice tenders for a long time before making a decision. Reports show assessments from traders and additional quotes of costs and volumes are still possible later on.

The lowest offer was thought to have been submitted by trading home Bagadiya Brothers, they stated.

The brand-new tender looks for cost offers for non-basmati parboiled rice in CIF liner out terms, consisting of ship discharging costs, for shipment to the ports of Chattogram and Mongla.

These other companies also took part in the tender, with their offers per lot CIF liner out: Kribhco Agri Service $ 480.51, Mondal Stone $467.70, Gurudeo Exports $468.89, Agrocorp $ 468.83, Aditya Birla $480.00 and Pattabhi Agro Foods $473.99.

The rice can come from worldwide origins and delivery is required 40 days after contract award.

Bangladesh has been an active buyer in global markets after

floods in the nation

in August and October damaged an approximated 1.1 million metric lots of rice, according to information from the agriculture ministry, triggering the country to broaden imports of the staple grain amid soaring food prices.

Bangladesh, the world's third-largest rice manufacturer, normally produces almost 40 million lots of rice a year to feed its population of 170 million. However, natural disasters regularly disrupt production and lead to increased reliance on imports.
