LNG exports from Russia's Yamal LNG slow down in July, LSEG data shows

Exports of melted gas (LNG) from Russia's Yamal LNG plant have slowed a little in July up until now compared to the very same duration a year due to a longer wait on vessels to unload the fuel in Europe, shiptracking information from LSEG showed on Thursday.

The exports have actually slowed down in the middle of upkeep at the French terminal of Montoir-de-Bretagne, which gets freights from Yamal LNG.

According to LSEG, 8 tankers departed from the port of Sabetta in the Arctic Yamal peninsular in July 1-12, compared with 9 tankers in the same periods of June and July 2023.

LNG exports from the plant for the period were 590,000 metric loads, below 650,000 heaps in the exact same duration in 2015 and 570,000 heaps in June 1-12, LSEG data revealed.

Last month, European Union nations settled on a new plan of sanctions against Russia over the dispute in Ukraine, consisting of a restriction of re-exports of Russian LNG through EU waters.

The sanctions work from March 2025.
