Vitol protects 3 LNG bunkering vessels

Vitol protected 3 melted natural gas (LNG) bunkering vessels through its shipping company, the commodity trader said in a release on Wednesday.

The vessels were protected through a seven to ten years time charter contract with Avenir LNG Limited and an order for 2 vessels at the CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & & Engineering (SOE) Co. Ltd shipyard in Nantong, China, the company added. The worldwide products trader said the newbuild LNG Bunkering Vessel (LNGBV) under the time charter agreement with Avenir has a capability of 20,000 cubic metres.

The time charter will start upon shipment from the shipyard in China in Q4 2026, serving for a period of 7 years, with options to extend as much as a total of 10 years.

Vitol bought one 12,500 cubic meters and one 20,000 cubic meters LNGBV at the CIMC SOE shipyard in China, which will be delivered in Q4 2026 and Q3 2027 respectively, Vitol stated in a. statement.
