Nigeria's state-owned NNPC records $4.2 billion after-tax profit in 2025

Nigeria's state-owned oil company NNPC reported a profit of 4.26 billion dollars ($5.760 trillion naira) in the last year. Africa's 'biggest' oil producer recorded an average crude & condensate production of 1.62 millions barrels per day.

The total revenue for the year was 60,517 trillion Naira. Statutory payments to government agencies were 14,706 trillion Naira.

NNPC didn't provide comparison figures for the previous year in the results released on Wednesday.

The company said that crude production was down slightly from the previous months in December, the last month of this period. This was due to planned maintenance and several unplanned outages.

The average December oil and condensate output was 1.54 million barrels per day (bpd), with revenues for the month totaling 4.824 trillion Nigerian naira.

The average daily natural gas consumption in December was more than 6,914 billion cubic feet.

The company reported that the downstream?metrics were improved in December. Nigerian Refining Limited's stations achieved 65% availability of?petrol.

The upstream infrastructure also performed well, with 100% availability reported for pipeline systems.

The company emphasized continued progress on major gas infrastructure project. The mainline welding of the Ajaokuta - Kaduna - Kano pipeline was completed by December. Pilot hole drilling on the Obiafu - Obrikom pipeline also advanced.
