Jet CEO positive about 75 aircraft a month target

The chief executive of Jet said he was positive the business would reach its target of making 75 singleaisle airplane a month in 2027, offered its financial investment, focus on its supply chain and the hiring of people ahead of time.

By 2027 we will be with the capability rate 75 totally in location, which's something we are very confident of, CEO Guillaume Faury informed press reporters on Wednesday.

The European planemaker had in July cut its annual shipment target to around 770 aircraft from 800 after Faury said he had been blind-sided by a drop in products from enginemaker CFM.

However he called it a short-term problem that affected shipments in 2015 and would affect them this year but not beyond.

The CFM engine issues are never a problem to the rate 75, he stated.

As production increases towards target, Faury said Plane was attempting to make sure that each supplier has a plan in place to conquered prospective problems.

We are going at the speed of the slowest of our providers, he said.

Asked about whether Airplane was considering raising production beyond 75 each month in the years after 2027, he stated that was not on the cards in the meantime.

The strategy is to go to 75 and stay at 75 for some years, he stated.

This is a prudent level of production in terms of being sure that the need will remain greater than the supply for a long time.
