Skyryse, a company that provides aviation automation solutions, has raised over $1 billion in its latest financing round

Skyryse, a U.S. aviation tech company, announced on Tuesday that it had raised $300 million as part of a funding round?that valued the company at $1.15billion.

The series C 'round was led by Autopilot Ventures & Fidelity Management & Research Company. ArrowMark Partners, Qatar Investment Authority and others also participated.

Investors are increasingly interested in autonomous flight systems that reduce pilot workload, operational costs and improve safety. This is expected to increase demand for these technologies.

Founded in 2016, Skyryse provides software-and-hardware aviation solutions and has developed ?SkyOS, a flight system that replaces conventional mechanical controls with a simplified interface to make ?aircraft easier and safer to fly, especially in emergencies ?and poor weather.

The company said that the new capital would be used to finish Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), certification, and expand SkyOS deployment across other aircraft types.

Skyryse said that the FAA granted final approval in 2025 for its flight control computers.

Skyryse demonstrated its system on multiple aircraft including the Black Hawk helicopter where it performed automated hovering, lift-off, and landing maneuvers.

The company has announced that it has secured SkyOS integration partnerships with military, emergency medical, firefighters, law enforcement, and private aviation operators.

Aircraft such as the Airbus H125 and Bell 407 are scheduled to be integrated with SkyOS, via partnerships with operators like United Rotorcraft and Air Methods, and Mitsubishi Corporation. (Reporting and editing by Vijay Kishore in Bengaluru, with Prakhar Srivastava from Bengaluru)
