South Korea's MFG purchases about 60,000 T of soymeal according to traders

Major Feedmill Group in South Korea (MFG) purchased 60,000 metric tonnes of soymeal on Friday. The soymeal was expected to come from South America or China, traders reported.

The estimated cost of the ton (c&f), including any surcharges for port unloading, was $397.42. Trading house Olam is believed to have been the seller.

Arrival in South Korea was scheduled for April 10, 2025.

The reports reflect the opinions of traders, and it is still possible to estimate prices and volume later.

Traders said that the soymeal would be expected to come from South America. However, the seller could also supply it from the United States, or China.

They said that shipments were made between February 21 and March 12 from South America or from March 22 to April 10 from China, or from March 8 to 27 from the Pacific Northwest coast of the United States.

Only 50,000 tonnes of the product can be sourced from China or the United States.

Nonghyup Feed Inc., a South Korean animal feed manufacturer, purchased up to 60 tons of soymeal at an international auction on Friday. The Feed Leaders Committee in Korea also purchased about 60 tons on Thursday. (Reporting and editing by David Evans, with Michael Hogan)
