Jordan attracts seven participants to 120,000 t of wheat tender, traders claim

Initial assessments indicate that seven trading companies have participated in the international bid on Tuesday by Jordan's state grain buyer to buy 120,000 metric tonnes of wheat.

CHS, Cargill Viterra, Ameropa Buildcom Cereal Crops Al Dahra and Ameropa are believed to have participated.

They said that no purchase had yet been reported.

The tender seeks to ship in consignments of 50,000-60,000 tons in various combinations. The possible shipment combinations include April 16-30. May 1-15. May 16-31. and June 1-15.

Jordan bought 50,000 tons of wheat from Bulgarian trader Buildcom in its previous tender held on Jan. 28. The price was estimated at $265.25 per ton, including freight (c&f), for shipment during the first half June. (Reporting and editing by Mrigank Dahniwala; Michael Hogan)
