On Thursday, MFG received a submission.

First, the first tender requested 140,000 tons of only South American or South African origin for arrival in August to South Korea.

The second bidder sought to import 140,000 tons of rice from the U.S.A., South America, South Africa or other origins worldwide for arrival in July.

Only 68,000 tons were purchased for the tender that sought South American or South African origin at an estimated cost and freight of $256.49 per ton plus a $1.50 surcharge per ton for port unloading.

Cargill, the trading house, is believed to have sold corn for arrival on August 10, South Korea.

A second consignment of the South American/South African bid for arrival on August 5, South Korea was not purchased, traders reported.

Traders said that two consignments had been purchased at the global origin tender.

They said that a consignment of 68,000 tons worldwide optional origin corn was purchased at a cost of $253.99 per ton C&F, including a surcharge on port unloading. It was thought that the consignment had been sold by Bunge in anticipation of its arrival on July 7th, South Korea.

A second consignment of 68,000 tons of corn with worldwide origin was purchased at an estimated $252.49 per ton C&F, plus a $1.50 surcharge per ton for port unloading. Trading house Olam was thought to have sold the consignment for arrival on July 17, South Korea.

The reports reflect the opinions of traders, and it is possible to estimate prices and volume later. (Reporting and editing by Maju Sam; Michael Hogan)
