Taiwan buys estimated 78,200 T wheat of US-origin

The Taiwan Flour Millers' Association bought an approximated 78,200 metric tons of milling wheat to be sourced from the United States in a tender on Thursday, European traders said.

The purchase included different wheat types for shipment from the U.S. Pacific Northwest coast in two consignments.

The first consignment of 38,950 heaps included 24,200 lots of U.S. dark northern spring wheat of a minimum 14.5% protein content bought at an approximated $322.24 a load free on board ( fob), relating to $373.04 a lot cost and freight (c&& f). including ocean shipping costs to Taiwan, the traders said.

It also included 8,225 lots of hard red winter season wheat of a. minimum 12.5% protein material bought at $293.36 a heap. fob/$ 344.16 a load c&& f, and 6,525 tons of soft white wheat of a. minimum 8.5% and optimum 10% protein purchased $241.03 a heap. fob/$ 291.83 c&& f. The first consignment was for shipment in between Dec. 7-Dec. 25. Trading house CHS offered the dark northern and soft white,. while Columbia Grain International was thought to have sold the. hard red, traders stated.
