UK maritime agency: Vessel captain reports an attack south of Yemen’s Mokha

The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations agency (UKMTO), said Thursday, that a ship's captain had reported an attack by two small craft 45 nautical miles south from Yemen's Mokha. A rocket-propelled grenade exploded near the vessel.

Since November, Houthi militants with ties to Iran have attacked international shipping near Yemen in solidarity with Palestinians fighting alongside Israel and Hamas.

The agency reported that the vessel and crew were safe, and the ship was proceeding to its next destination.

Four people were on each of the two boats. They were described as wearing white and yellow raincoats by the news agency.
