SBM might bid in Petrobras tender Sergipe job platforms

Dutch firm SBM Offshore is thinking about bidding on a tender released by Brazil's Petrobras to develop to 2 oil platforms for the staterun oil company, SBM's president in Brazil, Jonas Lobo, informed Reuters.

The tender, to build up to 2 Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessels, is part of Petrobras' strategies to develop an oil and gas field in the Sergipe state in northeast Brazil.

We have huge interest in deepening the analysis so that we have the ability to participate competitively, said Lobo.

The tender was launched by Petrobras last month after previous efforts to commission the vessels were not successful. The Brazilian oil giant made modifications to the tender for the relaunch that Lobo thinks will make it effective.

We will collaborate to make that occur, he stated.

Petrobras tasks that the two platforms will have the capability to process 120,000 barrels of oil and as much as 12 million cubic meters of gas daily.

The company held off the start of operations for the two platforms until a minimum of 2030 in the tactical plan it released in November for 2025 to 2029. In the previous strategy, both platforms were arranged to being operating in 2028.
