Freeport LNG nears end of growth that will increase output

U.S. liquefied gas designer Freeport LNG expects to increase production beyond its 15.3 million metric ton per year (MTPA) capability as it concludes an growth project, the company said on Friday.

Freeport LNG runs the second-largest U.S. processing plant and its ups and downs have led to gas-price swings in the United States and Europe.

We have securely completed the large majority of the work associated to our debottlenecking task and are working to carry out the advantages of those efforts, a Freeport representative informed Reuters on Friday.

The representative did not say what the capability would be when the debottlenecking is complete.

Feedgas streams to Freeport on Friday were on track to reach a. record 2.3 bcfd, up from 2.1 bcfd on Thursday and approximately. 1.9 over the previous 7 days, LSEG data revealed.

Prior to its debottlenecking Freeport plucked peak close. to 2.2 bcfd, according to LSEG data.

On July 7 Freeport shut its plant in anticipation of the. passage of Typhoon Beryl, the plant stayed down for 8. days and after that resumed operations on a phased basis, having. suffered damage to its fin fan air coolers due to the storm.
