Iran tenders for 120,000 T each corn and barley, traders state

Iranian stateowned animal feed importer SLAL has provided global tenders to purchase up to 120,000 metric tons of animal feed corn and 120,000 lots of feed barley, European traders stated on Monday.

The deadline for submission of cost deals in the tenders is Tuesday, Oct. 8, they said.

Shipment for all the grains is looked for in November and December.

The corn can be sourced from Brazil, Europe, Russia, Ukraine or somewhere else in the Black Sea area.

The barley can be sourced from the European Union, Russia, Ukraine or in other places from the Black Sea region or Kazakhstan.

Payment problems for Iranian services due to the fact that of western sanctions had actually made involvement in current tenders from Iran difficult, traders said.

Food is exempt from Western sanctions on Iran over its nuclear programme, however sanctions have hit Iran's financial system, developing complicated and unpredictable payment plans.

Traders stated Iran was using payment in the brand-new tenders through a bank in Iraq.
