Moldova PM demands resignation of Energy Minister, Two Senior Energy Officials

On Thursday, the Prime Minister of Moldova Dorin Recean demanded the resignation Energy Minister Victor Parlicov because he failed to address the energy crisis in this small former Soviet Republic.

Recean called for the resignations of Victor Binzari, head of state-owned energy company Energocom and Sergiu Tofilat, member Moldovagaz's supervisory board.

"The resignations is the first step in correcting the crisis. I had complete confidence in Minister Parlicov. Recean told Newsmaker that Parlicov did not guarantee the purchase of gas.
