Algeria offers up to 245,000 tons of corn plus 35,000 tons each of barley, soymeal and rye.

On Wednesday, European traders reported that the Algerian state agency ONAB had issued three international bids for up to 245,000 metric tons animal feed corn and up 35,000 tons feed barley.

We will be closing the price offers on Thursday, February 13.

Traders said that the new announcement indicates that Algeria did not purchase corn, barley, and soymeal in last week's tenders, but still wanted to buy the same volume.

Only Brazil or Argentina can supply up to six consignments ranging from 30,000 to 40 000 tons.

Both barley and soybean meal are sought as part of a consignment between 25,000 to 35,000 tons, sourced from optional sources that have not been specified.

Barley, soymeal and corn must be shipped between March 5 and 20.

Algeria's state grain agency OAIC also announced a separate tender for a nominal 50,000 metric tonnes of animal feed barley, which will be sourced from optional sources. This also closes on Thursday. Reporting by Gus Trompiz, Michael Hogan and David Goodman. Editing by David Goodman.
