Delta Air cautions of $380 mln revenue hit from CrowdStrike failure

Delta Air Lines on Thursday warned of a $380 million hit to its income in the current quarter from operational disturbances arising from the CrowdStrikecaused blackout.

A software upgrade last month by global cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike triggered system problems for Microsoft customers, including many airlines. The interruptions persisted at Delta even as they decreased the next day at other significant U.S. providers.

The Atlanta-based carrier canceled about 7,000 flights over 5 days, stranding numerous countless travelers. Delta also deals with an investigation from the U.S. Transportation Department for the disruptions.
