Passengers left from Ryanair aircraft in Italy after fumes seen

Passengers were evacuated from a Ryanair flight at Brindisi in southern Italy quickly before launch on Thursday morning after fumes were seen outside of the aircraft.

Italian media stated 184 guests had been on board the flight and that firemens were called out to take care of the incident.

Flight FR8826 from Brindisi to Turin was postponed this morning after cabin crew observed fumes on the exterior of the aircraft, Ryanair stated in a statement. Passengers were disembarked without incident and returned to the terminal by bus.

Brindisi airport, in the southeastern area of Puglia, was closed for a time after the incident but operator Aeroporti di Puglia said it had actually resumed by late early morning.

Ryanair said it planned to use a spare aircraft to fly the travelers to Turin in the future Thursday.
