Singapore Airlines' half-year revenue almost cuts in half on rising expenses

Singapore Airlines (SIA). reported a halfyear profit on Friday that nearly halved. yearonyear, reflecting heightening market competition combined. with greater fuel expenses and costs.

The airline's overall expenses rose to S$ 8.70 billion for. the half-year, a 14.4% increase, on the back of a jump in both fuel. and non-fuel costs.
