After a failed takeover attempt six months earlier, the British oilfield engineering and services firm Wood Group agreed to extend its deadline for talks.

John Pettigrew, the chief executive of National Grid, has said that the electricity transmission system was able to supply enough power to Heathrow during the closure of the airport last week. This comes as the airlines' anger grew over the decision to close the airport for almost 24 hours.

Zafrul Aziz, Malaysia's trade minister, said Washington demanded that Malaysia track closely the movement of Nvidia high-end chips entering the country. Washington suspects that some of these chips end up in China in violation of U.S. Export Rules.

James Hardie Industries, a fibre-cement manufacturer in the United States, announced that it will acquire AZEK Company for $8.75 billion (including debt) as part of a cash-and-stock deal. The company is looking to increase growth by offering new products to homeowners.
