Media report: IndiGo's co-founder will sell a stake worth $800 Million in a deal.

CNBC-TV18, citing unnamed sources, reported that IndiGo's co-founder Rakesh Ganwal would sell up to 3.4% of the company through a block transaction worth 68.31 bn rupees ($803 million).

Gangwal intends to sell shares at 5,175 rupees per share - a 4.5% reduction from the Monday closing price of 5,420 rupees.

The airline didn't immediately respond to our request for comment.

IndiGo was founded by Gangwal and Rahul Bhahatia in 2006.

Gangwal, currently the chair of the board of directors at U.S. budget airline Southwest, left IndiGo's board after a dispute between Bhatia and Gangwal over the change of certain rules in the articles of association.

Gangwal's family has reduced their Indigo ownership from 36.6% in 2022 to 13.5% today.
