Singapore Airlines issues notes for $394 Million due in 2036

Singapore Airlines announced on Friday that it had issued S$500,000,000 ($394,35?million?) in 2.70% notes payable in 2036.

The national carrier of the city-state?said?that?the notes were issued in denominations?of S$250,000?and bear interest at a?fixed rate of 2.70%?payable semi-annually, on January 30 and July 30.

The firm stated in its statement that the notes were issued as part of the company's multi-currency, medium-term note program, which was worth a total of?S$10 Billion.

The firm announced last week that proceeds would be used for 'aircraft purchases and related payments', as well as general corporate or working-capital purposes, such refinancing of existing loans.

Standard Chartered Bank, DBS Group and United Overseas Bank are the joint managers and global coordinators of the issue.

Singapore Airlines announced that it had received approval in principle to list the notes at the Singapore Exchange. The notes will be added to the official list of the Singapore Exchange at 9 am on 2 February.
