Taiwan's MFIG purchases 65,000 T corn, Brazil anticipated origin

Taiwan's MFIG acquiring group purchased about 65,000 metric lots of animal feed corn anticipated to be sourced from Brazil in a global tender held on Friday, European traders said.

The yellow corn was purchased at an estimated premium of 197.90 U.S. cents a bushel cost and freight (c&& f) consisted of over the Chicago March 2025 corn contract, they stated.

It was thought to have been offered by trading home ADM.

Reports show assessments from traders and even more quotes of costs and volumes are still possible later on.

Delivery was sought in between Oct. 19 and Nov. 7 if the corn was sourced from the U.S. Gulf, Brazil or Argentina, traders said.

If sourced from the U.S. Pacific Northwest coast or South Africa, shipment was sought between Nov. 3 and Nov. 22.

Brazilian corn controlled the tender, with six other trading homes likewise all providing the full 65,000 heaps at premiums ranging in between 201.00 and 217.00 U.S. cents c&& f over the Chicago March contract, traders stated.

One deal of U.S.-origin corn was made, for 65,000 heaps at 205.22 cents c&& f over March by trading house Pan Ocean.

One deal of Argentine-origin corn was made, for 65,000 tons at 212.49 cents c&& f over March.

Traders said Asian import demand was sparked with Chicago corn prices still near their least expensive in around four years struck earlier this week on expectations of bumper U.S. harvests.
