Sources: Rosneft and Lukoil will cut oil exports to Black Sea's Novo

Two sources familiarized with the loading plan for the Black Sea port Novorossiisk said that Rosneft, a Russian oil producer, and Lukoil, a Russian refiner, will drastically cut their oil exports in July.

Calculations based on data from the market showed that combined Novorossiisk loadings of Rosneft's and Lukoil's oil in July would be down by around 220,000 barrels a day (bpd) when compared with last month.

The Russian government announced last week that it would continue to allow unrestricted gasoline sales in July. This was despite the fact that Russian oil plants produced enough oil to meet seasonal peak demand, despite an escalating number of drone attacks by Ukraine on refineries.

Rosneft's oil exports to Novorossiisk will fall from 1.06 millions metric tons to 0.62 in July, whereas its Tuapse refining plant is expected to resume crude production this month.

Sources claim that Lukoil exports to the port will drop from 0.58 millions tons to 0.19 in July, down from 0.58.

Lukoil has restarted the CDU-6 crude distillation unit at its NORSI refinery in Russia, which is the fourth largest, after a drone attack was carried out in March.

The total oil loadings for July in Novorossiisk were 1.8 million tonnes, down from the 2.9 million tones in June.

The overall amount of oil exported and transported from Russia's western ports is expected to decrease in July compared to June, due to higher refinery runs as well as Moscow's commitment to OPEC+ production cuts. David Evans (Reporting and editing)
