Mike Lynch's co-defendant in US trial seriously hurt in UK road accident, source says

Stephen Chamberlain, Mike Lynch's codefendant in the U.S. fraud trial over the sale of Autonomy to HewlettPackard, was critically injured in a roadway mishap on Saturday, days before Lynch went missing off the coast of Sicily, an individual familiar with the matter told Reuters.

Chamberlain, Autonomy's former vice president of finance together with chief executive Lynch, was struck by an automobile in Cambridgeshire on Saturday early morning and was put on life support, the individual said.

Lynch was one of six people reported missing out on after a luxury luxury yacht was struck by a suddenly violent storm and sank off Sicily early on Monday.

Chamberlain faced the same charges of fraud and conspiracy as his former employer for supposedly computing to inflate the company's worth before it was sold.

Both the guys were acquitted of all 15 charges by a jury in San Francisco in June.

After leaving Autonomy in 2012, Chamberlain worked as chief operating officer for cybersecurity firm Darktrace and offered as a financing director for Cambridge United soccer club, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Cambridgeshire Cops appealed for witnesses after a. crash in between a pedestrian and a car in Newmarket Road in. Stretham, Cambridgeshire, saying a man in his 50s had been taken. to medical facility with serious injuries.

An authorities spokesperson stated on Monday there was no upgrade on. the pedestrian's condition.
