Downpours flood Toronto, causing power interruptions, traffic interruption

Torrential rain on Tuesday triggered flash flooding in parts of Toronto, Canada's monetary center, causing power blackouts, disrupting traffic and forcing airline companies to reduce service.

Toronto Hydro, the regional power distribution business, stated it was responding to spread blackouts that it believed were brought on by flooding at a transmission station. At 3 p.m., about 123,000 clients lacked power, it stated.

Billy Bishop Airport, positioned on an island off downtown Toronto, stated the underwater pedestrian tunnel resulting in the traveler terminal, was flooded and briefly closed. A minimum of some flights were delayed or canceled.
