Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea sign gas pipeline job

Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea have signed a contract to develop and operate a gas pipeline, Nigerian governmental representative Ajuri Ngelale said in a declaration on Thursday.

Nigerian President Bola Tinubu consulted with Equato-Guinean President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo in the Main African country of Equatorial Guinea throughout a three-day check out to go over concerns varying from employment and disputes to food security among others.

Nigeria and Morocco consented to construct the pipeline in 2016 to promote local combination and enhance energy security, while offering African gas an export path to Europe.

That project, backed by the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), is expected to cost $25 billion and have a capability of 30 billion cubic meters annually, to be completed in three phases as it links to existing infrastructure.

The arrangement with Equatorial Guinea covers legislative and regulative procedures for the gas pipeline, facility and operation, transit of natural gas, ownership of the gas pipeline, and basic principles.

Mbasogo hailed the deal as being strategic to Africa's. advancement and the continent's quote to have an irreversible seat on. the United Nation's security council.
