Grid Telecom, Tamares team up to construct cable television station in Cyprus

Grid Telecom, part of Greece's power grid operator ADMIE, has actually coordinated with Israelbased Tamares Telecom to construct a cable station and seaside infrastructure in Cyprus that will improve digital connection in the eastern Mediterranean region, they stated on Wednesday.

The two companies in 2015 agreed to construct an undersea optic fiber telecoms cable system to link Cyprus and Israel to Greece.

The new open-access telecoms hub in Cyprus will branch off to the prepared cable television system and link the island in the Eastern Mediterranean to Greece in the west and to Israel, Egypt and the Arabian Peninsula in the east, the two companies said in a joint declaration.

The job, a milestone for the growth of local digital facilities in the region, will provide wholesale and business customers trusted, safe and secure and high-speed information routes through the Eastern Mediterranean, the statement added.
