South Korea's KFA buys estimated 66,000 T corn, traders say

The Korea Feed Association ( KFA) acquired an approximated 66,000 metric lots of animal feed corn in a global tender on Tuesday, with the corn anticipated to be sourced from South America, European traders stated.

The purchase was made at an approximated straight-out cost of $ 233.49 a ton with expense and freight (c&& f) consisted of. The seller was believed to be trading home ADM.

The corn was sought for arrival in South Korea in one consignment around Nov. 30. Dumping was requested in one port only so no surcharge for extra discharging was sought.

The tender was provided by the KFA's Incheon area, also known as the Feed Purchasers' Group.

Reports show assessments from traders and even more price quotes of prices and volumes are possible later on.

The tender had actually sought corn sourced only from South America or South Africa, with delivery looked for from South America between Sept. 20 and Oct. 20 or from South Africa between Sept. 30 and Oct. 30.

Traders stated that Asian importer interest was sparked after Chicago corn futures hit practically four-year lows on Monday as expectations of a bumper U.S. corn crop and a continued stream of farmer selling weighed on rates.

Following the sharp fall in corn futures I believe there will be relief among some exporting countries that the Korean award was made above the $230 c&& f level, one European trader stated. However all other offers I saw were listed below $240 c&& f..
