Hurricane Alberto moves inland in Mexico's coast after three fatalities

Hurricane Alberto is moving inland over Mexico's coast, the U.S. National Cyclone Center ( NHC) said on Thursday, with heavy rains and gusty winds diminishing for Texas but continuing in northeastern Mexico.

The seaside flooding risk stays for Texas, and tropical storm conditions are expected in the Mexican area, according to the NHC.

The center stated that Alberto's rains will decrease in southern Texas but keep affecting Central America and northeastern Mexico, potentially triggering flash and city flooding, as well as brand-new and renewed river flooding.

Earlier reports from Mexico's National Water Commission ( Conagua) forecasted Alberto's landfall on the coasts of Tamaulipas and Veracruz states. The storm has currently triggered significant rains in northeastern Mexico, causing three fatalities.

As Alberto approaches, the Nuevo Leon state federal government had moved 92 people to shelters and paused public activities due to the forecasted climate condition.
