Brazil's Lula cancels journey to BRICS top on medical advice

Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva on Sunday canceled his trip to Russia for the BRICS summit, following medical recommendations to temporarily prevent long-haul flights after hurting his head in a mishap in your home.

In a declaration, the presidential office stated Lula, who was at first set up to depart at 5 p.m. regional time on Sunday, will now take part in the BRICS meeting through videoconference.

The diplomatic online forum founded 15 years back by major emerging markets Brazil, Russia, India, China has since expanding to consist of South Africa, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran and the United Arab Emirates.

According to a medical report issued by the Sirio Libanes Hospital in Brasilia, Lula was encouraged to avoid long-distance air travel but is otherwise able to perform his regular duties.
